Well, I said I would but information about SEARCH up and here it is.  I just got the information package emailed to me (twice) so I’ll just use that.

SEARCH IS AN ENERGETIC INTERACTIVE WEEKEND RETREAT FOR YOUTH BY YOUTH.  THE WEEKEND IS FILLED WITH TALKS AND GROUP ACTIVITIES THAT ENCOURAGES GROWTH IN ONE’S FAITH AND A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS.


WHO IS SEARCH??
SEARCHERS ARE YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 15 TO UNIVERITY YEARS.  THEY ARE HONEST, COURAGEOUS ENOUGH TO SHARE THEIR FEARS AND CONCERNS, THEIR JOYS AND ROTTEN JOKES BUT ABOVE ALL THEIR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST.


SEARCH BEGAN IN 1962 IN CALIFORNIA AND IS NOW LOCATED IN MANY DIOCESES IN THE USA AND CANADA.


SEARCH is a way to help you on your journey to discover God, yourself, and Christian community.  This is a time to experience supportive gathering of young people who want to learn, and experience a closer relationship with God and with others.  You will have the opportunity to share Christ, prayer, friendships, and fun.  Our celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday will bring us to a greater understanding of what the liturgy means.  


The SEARCH weekend is open to all youth (ages 15-20).  All denominations are welcome and warmly recieved.  The SEARCH program is based on the teachings of the Catholic Church but is not designed as a means of conversion to Catholicism, but rather an invitaion to join a Christ centered community of young adults.  To experience Christ Alive.
